Would you consider making a version for the PSP?

I'm only half joking...

As a non-reformed smoker, lengthy airplane travel can be a nail biting experience, even with gum, six patches and a bunch of the anti-smoking lozenges.

So I use my PSP to pass the time, watching movies, and I had hoped, playing games.

Here's the kicker, there actually aren'y any what I'd call decent games for the PSP, with the possible exception of Fifa.

All the shooters are too basic, the only rpg likewise and I'm crap at racing games so forget that.

So the idea of FM for the PSP brings tears of joy to my eyes. However without the ability to cheat like a bastard, I feel the experience will be lacking.

So I don't know the complexities of miniature programming, so I ask the question - is a version of MCM for the PSP a possibility or not?

I assume you're referring to MCFM since MCM is no longer being supported and is for an ancient game.

The answer is 99% likely to be no. It is my understanding that Sony operate on a royalties scheme which means that we would probably have to pay them a small amount each time a copy of our utility was downloaded. Now we have no definite number of how many times MCFM has been downloaded but I'm guessing it was in the 100,000+ range.

We simply couldn't afford to put it out there for free and charging for it is short of insanity. No, I'm pretty much sure that we won't be releasing MCPSPM or whatever you call it in your dreams! Sorry.

I probably should point out that whilst you should take this as our (Mind Compression)'s stance on the situation, I don't pretend to know a great deal about the whole royalties/licencing situation but judging by Sony's past behaviour, it'll be too much of a hassle.

And I'm not even mentioning the possibility of having to get our hands on their OS tools.

Minature programming by the way is not something hard to do... Loads of people use J2ME (including me) to make mobile games and apps. It's getting hold of the PSP SDK which is nigh on impossible to do unless you're a licenced dev or you want to download the cracked leaked version (which I'm NOT doing!).
