All Players on a Free

I was wondering if anyone has made a patch that you can get all the players in the game out of contract from day 1. I know that they made one for CM 03/04 but i was wondering if anyone's made one for FM.

If noone else has, I'd be happy to sit down and do one.

I made the iLeague European Super League update, and it seems people are enjoying that (I hope )

If anyone else has made an "all players on a free" update for Football Manager, please reply so in this thread asap, so I'll know whether to start on one myself...

Right, I've got a game running with all players from the top divisions of England, Spain, and Italy all on free transfers. It's resulted lots of unusual transfers: Henry to Inter, Zidane to Newcastle, Ronaldinho to Arsenal etc., and seems good fun building a squad from nothing.

I remember playing one of these on an earlier version of CM (01/02 I think) and seem to remember non-player teams didn't seem to rushed into getting players and half the squad would be 'greyed out'. This meant that my squad, full of top free transfers, strolled to victory in every competition. However, the AI on FM seems to be considerably more advanced, and teams compete for the signature of top players, making it hard to build your dream team.

I have decided on a name for the update and coined the term "APACHE" (All Players Active Contracts Have Expired) and hope this will be picked up and used in the FM world, much like LLM.

It's not ready to be released yet, as I want to get a few more leagues done, any suggestions? When ready, the update will be published on ileague.net with a direct download link within these very forums.

Just added the French and German top divisions. Planning on doing Holland, Scotland, Portugal, Brazil and Argentina. Think when these are done, they should be enough for the first version of the Apache update to be uploaded, as this will give 10 leagues.

Obviously, the ultimate goal would be to have EVERY player on a free transfer at game start, but this would take too long. So each version will concentrate on adding a few extra nations and/or divisions, until it is believed there are enough players at game start.
