Hi, tried to download a .rar transfer update file but not sure what to do after I have donwloaded it, how do you open it and with what, it is in the db/inc file of the football manager files. is this correct? any help will be most appreciated.

you need to have winrar installed first, if you do not have it just type it into google and download.


Once you have, double click on the update, there should be a radme file there, if there is right click on this and click view. It should tell you where exactly to extract the files, if it does, click on the little folder above the readme and data files so you select everything, then click extract to and pick location.

If it doesn't have a read me, double click on the update, extract to your desktop, once there should be around 6 files called something like, server_db , Playerhist_db and stuff like that.

Copy all these and paste them to harddrive: sportsinteractive/footballmanager2005/data/db.

you should be asked if you want to overwrite some files, if you are then you have done it right.

Before you do this, take a backup of your database (it will be in the folder that you need to put the extracted files into).
