Guys, i'm at the end of my pitiful rope, i'm a desperate man - please help!
Basically, i've been playing a network game with 2 friends (i am UTD, others are Liverpool and Arsenal) and we are now in our 4th season. The problem is that in those 4 season the only trophy i have won is the bloody league cup, whereas between them the other guys have won the LOT.
Now, we have all built world class teams (can list the players if u like but trust me) and the league is always fairly tight, so is the champions league. Its just in those crucial matches against my buddies that i always come unstuck and lose. And it costs me dearly.
I dont really want to tinker with my tactics too much as i can beat most other teams fairly easily (442) so i sont know what to say before these big games or what oppostion instructions to give or even what minor tactical adjustments to make to ensure i take some points from these games in future.
History tells me that these guys play a very quick/wide/short passing game and i am at my wits end trying to counter it. Anyone have any ideas how to?
put your fullbacks on about 12 for closing down and put one of your central midfielders on 14 and the other one on 8. If they have quick forwards drop your defensive line and if they have slow tall forwards push up and tell your back two to tight mark. Player instructions target all there players which have low bravery, with hard tackling this will ensure that win most of the 50/50 ball in that area

i forgot to say only do the hard tackling if your players have the ability tackling - decision - bravery
What about if they have the classic big man little man up front? one big and strong ans the other like lightening? man marking?
Liverpool have David Villa and Iaquinta and Arsenal have Henry and Trezeguet and Walcott.
Tried man marking without success, deep back line etc Are these players just too good and i have to outscore them?
get your tall/best jumping center back to tight mark the big guy and for the fast guy if you have a quick defensive midfielder get him to man mark the fast forward. If your best big center back is a lot better then there big forward play a deep defensive line (4-6) if about the same play a normal defensive line (7-10)

what does this drop your defensive line mean?
how can you tell your defenders to defend deeper ? without moving their positions to Sweeper
