Your telling your striker to run with the ball and hold the ball up
| Holding up means keeping it in your possesion and allow midfielder to join you in attack. If you have a strong target man like Drogba, you'll keep it close to you and shield of defenders. If you have a great dribbler, he can dribble away from the defenders, wait for his teammates to join him and lay off. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Lol, I don't think you understood what I first said, run with ball and hold up ball are conflicting instructions, it's like deep defensive line and playing offside trap </BLOCKQUOTE>
Not really, you can have run with ball and hold up ball because then you could use a dribbler like Robinho to hold it up with his technique rather then his strength.

Unless they have high decisions, I would never have run with ball and hold up ball

it's like deep defensive line and playing offside trap Smile
| That also isn't neccessarly a contradictory instruction. Arsenal under George Graham used to play quite deep, but still used the offside trap to very good effect.

Just because you don't use it doesn't make it conflicting does it?

oooo kay...
Any hoo, I'm a bit disappointed so far in FM07. Apart from the halftime thingy there is nothing new to the tactics side and for me that's disappointing as there are a few things that could of been added. I guess FM08 will focus more on the tactics engine but IMO FM07 is FM06 with a better scouting engine.

| I agree with you on something  I've also found that there are far too many yellow and red cards for dissent
