Argh, nomatter what tactic i use i seem to get beaten. Won all my freindlies, but in the league my Hammers have lost their 7 opening matches, only wins have been against Auxerre in the UEFA Cup.
Same here mate, but with Arsenal. Just got tonked 3-1 by Celtic. Played a simple/quick/attacking football. Oh crap!

Dribbling seems to work very will in this version, so I would recommend using some wide wingers and try to have your striker run with the ball as well (possibly together with holding up ball)
Those are conflicting instructions.... </BLOCKQUOTE>
Why? You think holding up means stand still with the ball and punch away any defenders?
I'm having problems getting my defence sorted with Arsenal. Tight marking doesn't seem to work as well as it did in 06, or maybe it has to do with my defensive line/closing down settings, but whatever it is, getting away from Toure and Gallas was easy work for Johnson and Beattie at Goodison.
This seems very unrealistic, 9 league defeats out of 9. But we've one all three of are european game (Auxerre and Club Brugge) and just won 3-1 away against Chelsea in the cup. Anyone hav any tips for league games?

Your telling your striker to run with the ball and hold the ball up
Holding up means keeping it in your possesion and allow midfielder to join you in attack. If you have a strong target man like Drogba, you'll keep it close to you and shield of defenders. If you have a great dribbler, he can dribble away from the defenders, wait for his teammates to join him and lay off.

Lol, I don't think you understood what I first said, run with ball and hold up ball are conflicting instructions, it's like deep defensive line and playing offside trap
