Ok guys, I used this tactic in FM06 and worked quite well, so with a few tweaks I have started using this with chelsea. I know chelsea are a super strong team but this is the first game I have started and would appreciate any help or feedback you have.
Now I like my teams to have 4 main things -
1)A holding midfielder that close's down and breaks up play, while also providing a link between midfield and defence.
2) Full backs that can make forward runs and cross from deep.
3)Wingers.
4)2 strikers.
The problem I found was that I was being left short in the centre of midfield and wasnt dominating. So I decided to have my holding midfileder (in defensive midfield) have the ability to join my other central midfielder when we have the ball (with one of those line/run arrows)I also had a problem with goals so I decided that my normal central midfielder have one of thos run arrows to the central attacking midfeild positions. This ment that i had most areas of the pitch covered a good attacking force going forward and a tight defense.
The Barnz click here to have a look for yourselves I havent done one of these tactic threads for a while so if you need anymore info just ask.
King Eric - What sort f goals were you conceding? All from set pieces? all from cross's etc? or just all sorts? The other thing is it takes good few games for players to get used to a new system. oh and sorry I ruined your top of the table clash
