Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Advice on training

Sorry about the poor title but i wanted it to be short and sweet, well at least short anyway,

Well anyway I got a couple of questions to ask, I'm not after the best training schdule but my first question I wanted to ask was how do most people set up training, e.g. do you leave it on general and increase it by a couple of notches or is it most effective to a training regime for each individual player to improve their weakness or do it in groups e.g. defence, attack e.t.c or do a bit of both,

I just started it with bournemouth and one of my strikers needs a bit of work on his penalties but has decent technique and first touch while another who is getting on a bit needs a little work on his fitness levels, should i put both on same regime or work on one of the strikers individually.

My next question is when i offer contracts to new coaches it says my board recommend
I have 3 coaches, does that mean 3 coaches in total, or 3 coaches in senior training, and another 3 coaches for youth training

Hi,

In my training i set up a Training Regime for different catergories..i.e Wingers...Central Mid...Left/Right Backs etc then adjust the sliders for what skills will be needed in them positions.

Makes sence considering all your players are just dumped into General and there training on skills they do not necessarily need.

Good Luck

Hi Mike,

First I'd give you a great read on training and what affects what:

But here's a little summary: It's always better to have more than one training schedule, since you don't need your defenders to get good at trying tricks or your CB's to be able to cross, while having great tackling skills for your forwards also seems pretty useless, right?
Thus the best thing to do is make a defence, midfield and attack schedule, and if you like to go even deeper you might make one for great talents, and maybe even a regime for every single player, thus getting the best out of them. I'm not saying standard training isn't good, it's just the fact that the more effort you put into it, the better results MIGHT get. Of course this means lots of testing and adjusting to find the best schedules...

As for your coaches question:just go to your staff screen and list all the people that have "Coach" in their job, that's the number you got right now. THen compare that to the number your board wants you to have...

Hoped I helped you out a bit, any other questions are always welcome.

Cheers, R.

I dont touch the training section personally. I didnt use it on 05, and i intend to let my assistant handle it on FM.

Im sure there is a good way to use it to improve your team, but whenever i do it, my players either end up playing crap, or injured.
