Erm? It's an FM tactics forum. It's exactly where people should moan.

AAAAAAAARGH. If I hear one more person use the work 'tweak' I am going to kill someone.

What the %^&* does it mean?

For the people who have enough of a life outside FM to not read every thread in the tactics forum and look at every stat, 'tweak' means move the sliders to how you think you want them to try and play. Often randomly.

Leading to another defeat and more frustration.

"Tweak" is a perfectly viable term signifying the minor alteration of a pre-established set of rules or instructions.
As for the suggested inclusion of difficulty levels I think this would add a clinical, mathematical side to the game, detracting from the chaotic reality on which the game currently thrives. If you want a football management simulation that offers the ability to simply make it easier to win then try a different game, not one that is based upon creating a realistic management experience.

'Tweak' is the catch-all phrase used by peopleon here who claim to be masters of the game when they don't want to give any actual advice.

It's the equivalent of someone asking for directions and you saying 'over there somewhere'

It's meaningless.

And difficulty levels are not the way forward. But being able to ask your assistant yo deal with the minituae of the tactics is.

There are MANY variables a tactician can not know about your game. For example; your squad, the league you play in, your preferred style, etc. So when they say tweak, they mean you will actually have to do some work yourself on the tactic in order for it to be successful for you. If you have a player that can't dribble for ****, then you may need to consider lowering his run with ball setting. Changes like that are what is meant by tweak.

But that is never explained when someone comes on here full of frustration because they've just lost 10 games straight.

The standard answers are either:

You suck

or

You need to tweak your tactic

And for the record, I've spent hours poring over the statrs of my players trying to 'tweak' them, but it makes **** all difference.

Hello,

Ive been playing FM or Championship manager as it used to be for over 8 years now and i love the new FM07. I spend ages training and sorting tactics and have had no problems.

I also play pro evolution soccer and some people say its too hard so they turn to Fifa where every shot you have can go in!!!

So what im saying is either practise and become the best at FM or sod off and play Fifa!!!!
