Hi all,

Could I possibly have some help with my away tactics.

I'm MK Dons, in my 3rd season. I have won both the previous leagues, having an almost unbeatable home formation (which still works in the championship). However I have always struggled away from home. I created a 442 Diamond formation that plays deep and counter attacks, using the top of the diamond as a play maker, and also one of my strikers as a target man.
I managed to get it to work quite well last season with some tweaking, however in the Championship I am struggling away from home at the best of times. I think it is just my team talks that pull out any kind of result.

Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions for a useful away formation, and indeed a style of play? playmakers/target men, should I use them etc?

I find that it is impossible to keep possesion when you are playing away, so wen my newcastle team plays away i play attacking mentality with direct wuick passing style, and set my two centre defenders to ultra defensive, so the rest of my team can get forward. Its not perfected but it can scrape you important wins against strong teams away from home.

I play away games the same as home games (formation wise). Just change the closing down in tacticts to "always" and team instructions to "Do it for the fans". This does the trick for me and, when you score a goal, the player always run to the fans and gets the team fired up.
