One thing I'd like to know is regarding determination and training.
Does the 'Determination' attribute in any way affect a players development.
So lets say, for example, I had 2 players both with a CA of 100 and a PA of 150. Player A has a determination attribute of 20 and Player B has a determination attribute of 10 but all other attributes and hidden attributes are the same (not likely, I know).
So my question is, given the same training, coaches etc would Player A with the higher determination develop faster than Player B?
I'm wondering this partly to clarify determination in my own mind. I can see how this attribute would affect a player in a match, but I can't help think of this attribute as being different than all the other 'visible' attributes in that it could affect a players performance off the pitch. In my mind a very determined player would apply themselves more in training and strive more to be the best they can be (or is this covered by the hidden attribute 'Professionalism'?).
Am I reading too much into the determination attribute? Is it in fact only used when processing matches? Or should I continue to do what I do currently and take particular interest in youngsters who have high determination?
why does a losing team seem to be able to change to 4-2-4 and yet they still get plenty of possession and often pop up with goals.
If we were to start games with a 4-2-4 formation, we would lack possession, get caught out in midfield all the time and therefor have our 4 strikers getting very little of the ball.
Yet during the last 10 mins of a game, their midfielders or defenders, whoever they put upfront to make that 4, suddenly become wonder strikers and dont play badly at all despite being completely out of position? It is just stupid.

Good idea for a thread as always Cleon.

Further to chopper99's post, I'd like to know what these do in the game:
-Pressure
-Professionalism
I thought I knew this in FM07, but now I'm not sure of these and the way they impact players within FM08 - especially Professionalism. Does this have an impact on the training?

I'd finally cracked defending on the 8.0.1 patch as you can see by my results.
I installed the patch before I played Villa.
Since the patch I've conceded 11 goals in 10 games as opposed to 5 in 14 pre patch and only 1 pre season.
Now I've not changed my tactics or had any injuries. Any ideas why??
Read the patch notes and you'd see why. </BLOCKQUOTE>
What's the point responding to my post like that.
If you feel it's a stupid post then ignore it.
Why waste your time answering if you're not going to offer any assistance. </BLOCKQUOTE>
I was telling you why, if you read all the fixes the match engine had recieved, then you'd have expected you'd need to rework your tactics, especially the defensive side. You asked 'any ideas why?' so I told you....

I do have another question.
The patch fixes for the match engine have different match v numbers.
What are these?
As they make changes to the match engine they give it different version numbers, so each new iteration of the match engine is given a new version number as it's constantly evolving. I'm pretty sure there's a more detailed explaination of this, including which version is being used in 8.0.2, in one of the 8.0.2 patch threads stickied in the general discussion forum.
