How do you determine in what areas you need extra power?

And do you switch a lot of tactics during the game?
Don't take it easy just because the media predicted you to be 1st. Its gonna be a tough time.

Basically its just experience. I've been playing since 98 and its really developed but kept the basic principle.
Your first time will be a hard time. You will have to focus on the basic stats.

My main rules are:
-Every position needs at least 2 players. So i want 2 Right minded DC's, 2 lef minded DC's, 2 Right Backs, 2 left backs,...

-Are there players within your transfer kitty that can improve a position ? Try to get them

-In the lower league's check out reserve squads of big teams like Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd, Newcastle,...

-When you're nearing your final transfers, look if you can get some youngsters on loan. I like getting a striker on loan because he wants to prove himself -> score alot.

Its just experience, the first games will not be the most nicest but after a game or 3... You will be there or there abouts.
So the most important tip:
Don't give up, thats the worst thing you can do!

And have fun!

Have just signed a new player.
His name is Shane Tudor (AM RC) from Leyton Orient. I payed €2k for him.

His stats look good enough to be a backup and maybe even our first choice right mid. He's 24 years of age so i can still expect improvements of his stats.

Match Report
Nottm Forest 3-1 S****horpe
James Perch 8"
Danny Haynes 64"
Junior Agogo 80"

The first half display was average, we came up front thanks to a goal from James Perch.

In the second half Ross Gardner (MoM) rallied the troops to a great performance! Danny Haynes rounded off a great team move and Junior Agogo was a bit lucky, as we finished of S****horpe.
The 3-1 beating of them did us good and Roos Gardner was quickly hailed by the media for his performance.

Also Shane Tudor, our debutant, was good for setting up a goal and getting a yellow card. I liked his first display as he got an 8/10!

Match Report
Nottm Forest 2-2 Crewe
Danny Haynes 38", 70"

We dominated this game, but an error in the defense wich lead to the equalizer for Crewe.
We battled back bravely and made the 2-1, Danny Haynes was on fire in this game. But crewe managed to pass the ball around and 1 attack was good for another equalizer.
We were nothing against the goalscoring ability from Crewe. Both goals came from defensive errors, we were missing our experienced Cissé.

Another draw, at least we're a hard to beat team. I was hoping we could've built on the win in our previous match.

Post-match
My central midfielder, Ross Gardner, said that the second goal Crewe scored happened in an Offside position. I watched the incident, it was on the brink of offside, might have been. The player that scored the goal wasn't but another player was.
I told the media i wasn't happy but i could accept the decision, seeing as it was a close call.

Match Report
Bournemouth 1-1 Nottm Forest
Junior Agogo 19"

My assistant manager told me Bournemouth had a slow defense so i put in my 2 fastest strikers. Agogo & Haynes.
It payed off, created a lot of chances and tearing open their defense... But once again our inability to score was toying with us.
And ONCE again we score the first goal, concede a goal and fail to score again!

After this match i asked Gino Padula to hold a players' meeting to talk about our below-par performances.

A lot of generated players are coming through the ranks. They're not quality except for that one goalkeeper. Is anyone else having a lot of youngsters coming through ? And if so: Anything special?

Match Report
Chesterfield 0-1 Nottm Forest
Danny Haynes 56"

Dominated the first half, failed to score.
Second half started off as the first half ended. Danny Haynes once again using his speed to bear down on goal after a long distance pass... and score. Something he didn't do in the pre-season friendlys. He's a quality player on loan.
I was happy the defence didn't get complacent this time and the back 4 played a full 90 minutes game.

Match Report
Nottm Forest - Huddersfield
James Perch 3"
Danny Haynes 64"

Number 11 vs Number 10

A must win game IMHO.
The first half started off real good. A fallen out ball was rocketed at the far top corner by James Perch and the goalkeeper couldn't do anything to save it.
Some broken off attacks by both teams profiled the first half. And so it did in the second half.
Danny Haynes finished off a move after 3 previous attempts by respectively Tudor, Gardner & Agogo. Huddersfield tried to get back within a goal, but most attacks were abruptly broken off by some harsh tackles. Resulting in us collecting a few yellow cards.
But a win is a win and we deserved it.

On the side note: Another solid performance by our defence.

Well i started today with Forest and just ended the preseason.

Based on your judgement i attracted a few players to strengthing my squad.

Keepers: Still looking for a guy to hire, but i feel my current number 1 keeper Smith is good enough.

Defence: I bought a backup defender Martin Mcintosh from Huddersfield for 1K. Just for back up.

Midfield: i felt short on a ML/AML and a MR/AMR and bought Matt Jansen (free) as AML. For the right side i wasnt paying attention that i already had one fair AMR so i bought 3 of them (kevin james was injurred). Cooke Stephen 28k will be my first choice at the spot for rotation James Coutts 18k. And my mistake Mike Jones 100k, put him most certainly in reserves he is 18 years old and seems good. These 3 players i can also use as MC/AMC for some extra attacking power so doesnt seem all that bad.

Offence: I found the team has fairly offence, but im still busy to get Paul Hayes from burnsley as he has good stats already and might become a star. I also loaned nathan Jarman from burnsley for the hole season for rotation, but during the preseason he seemed to play well next to Nathan Tyson.

Futher to get some extra experiance into squad and some defence midfielders. I got Luigi Di Biagio and Cisse aliou. Who can function as DM but also on other positions.

Futher i sold Nicky Eaden and Gary Holt for free, they got old and i needed to pay them a lot of wages. Also tried to sell Nicky Southhell after he got injurred for some very long time but it failed .

Preseason:
Lincoln 0 - 2 Forest > Started Easy match, we played good
Forest 0 - 1 West Ham > Close match
Forest 1 - 1 St. Mirren > never heard of them but we where lucky to play a draw a drap match
Hereford 1 - 2 Forest > Easy win, should have been much more concealed a goal in the last min from a free kick
Forest 2 - 4 Marseille > The match was pretty close possesion was 50%.
Forest 1 - 4 Plymouth > dramatic game, we managed to pull off 4 shots against 21 from them. I feel i should have addopted an other tactic.

The kick off from the season is starting now:
Currently Luigi Di Biago is out from 3 to 5 months and Nicky Southell from 2 to 4 Months. The players for the MR position arent totally match fit but they will be soon.

Wish me luck, ill soon post an update, but i really need to eat now.
