Right, so far I`ve got a midfield of Alex Neil (Hamilton Accies, my local team), Cowan (Ross County), Commons and Bouazza from Watford plus Khalou Fadiga. Not doing too bad.
Matt Jansen was another signing I made but I`m going to hold off now.
4 games played 3 won after Perch got sent off against YEOVIL and then we went down 2-0.

Good to see another good showing of Forest Fans on the forum!
A few nights ago i just won promotion back to the championship with 1 game to go. Didnt really bring in any players bar a youth loanee from Man united to replace commens on the left wing when injured or in need of rest and also took a risk on a spanish AM player offered to me and he was quality! much better than clingan in midfield with holt but i guess you cant compare the two as clingan is a CM.
Team for most of the season was:
GK) SMith
LB) Bennett
CD) Morgan
CD) Culip
DR) Curtis
MR) Southall
MC) Clingan / spanish AM
CM) Holt
ML) Commons
AT) Holt
AT) Tyson
Tyson finished the season with 39 goals, he was awesome!
Holt Finished the season with the top assits.
Tyson fans player of the year
I received manager of the year for league one.
and now in post season looking for new players in particular:
AT to replace Lester, Harris, dobie
MD to replace, holt, southall and strength all midfield
LB to replace Padula as a backup
CD to cover first team players, may get rid of breckin too.
GK need a good back up to the impressive P.smith
Any ideas?
Also the board have struck a deal with AS ROMA so forest are now a feeder club for them. This was a deal between the 2 chairmen and nothing i was consulted about :-( might be a good thing tho as i get their players on loan for free under no obligation to play them and they give me 104K a year for it. Also first refusal on any of my players.

Im also playing as Forest, although I think you have bought and sold too many players. Perch is great as DM and has got 3 mom's out of 3 for me. Tyson will always score goals and best to seel Kris Commons in the Jan transfer window as you can get about £3m for him which you can invest elsewhere.
i bought rohan ricketts from wolves for 100k and he has got 5 goals in 3 games. playing him as an attacking cm.
this is a much harder version. im struggling with the money side of things and may have to sell my best player and then loan some decent guys to cover. i did manage to get chelsea as my feeder club and they have passed me some great young players! this is a must.
only 4 games into the season and lying in 4th so will let you know how i get on. any tips and help will be greatfully recieved.

I too quite like going the Tricky Trees, won the Champs League with them in 2006....
My signings in year one:
Chris Sutton - free
Duncan Ferguson - free
Don Hutchison - 1k
Potato - free
Danny Collins - 70k
Lewis Stevenson - 40k
Signed an affiliation with Arsenal (Villa were the other option)
loaned in Aliadiere and Matthew Connolly.
Sitting top of the table 9 points clear at New Year, fingers crossed...

I`m struggling in the league, I`m having to wildly adjust my tactics before matches to pick up wins. I was sending the team out with the same tactics (like 10 games into the season) and I was drawing all the time. Not had to play such a tactical game in my life but I`m loving it.
My signings just to sum up:
Matt Jensen- free (doesn`t look good at the start of the game but his stats have improved to premiership standard again.)
Alex Neil- Hamilton- 14k
Khalilou Fadiga- free
Percy Olivares- free
Paul Jones- QPR- 1k
Don Cowie- Ross County- 100k (captain, leader, excellent holding midfielder, fellow scot also :p lol)
Hameur Bouazza- Watford- loan (amazingly good)
Future transfers in saying the defence is soo bloody dodgy:
Derek Lilley- Kilmarnock- 26k
Can anybody tell me how to get a screenshot to post so i can stick a few up, cheers.

After deciding to try to outClough Clough I started a Notts Forest game about a week ago, and found this thread. As a result I scouted every player listed within it and picked the best to join me. As a result I won League One with 91 points!
In: Luigi Di Biagio (free), Aliou Cisse (free), John Sutton (70k), Roberto Holsen (free), Simon Gillett (free), Steven Naismith (45k), Owen Price (200k), Jan Tore Amundsen (130k), Danny Collins (110k), Teemu Turunen (free), Mark Hudson (20k)
Out: Gary Holt (2k), Neil Harris (20k), Ross Gardner (free), Jack Lester (50k), Nicky Eaden (free), Gino Padula (80k), Rune Pedersen (100k), Danny Cullip (free), Junior Agogo (free), Ian Brechin (free), Grant Holt (free)
Season Loans: Ryan Garry, Gavin Rothery, Tom Heaton, Isaiah Osbourne
Playing a 4-4-2 formation with one attacking minded and one defensive minded central midfielder. Have to say its given me huge strength in depth (Tyson is my 4th choice striker!) and meant that I'm only really after a couple of players to make the step up to the Championship: A Premiership ready Goalkeeper, A good young right winger to replace Southall and a young centre-half who will develop into Premiership quality (currently looking at Billy Jones at Crewe, expensive though.)
Star performers were Commons, Naismith (top scorer with 22,) and Turunen, while Tyson and Perch haven't shined as much as I hoped, although both have the potential and will keep their place in the squad.
My first choice XI was:
GK Smith
DR Cisse (c)
DL Bennett
DC Morgan
DC Collins
MR Price
ML Commons
MCa Turunen
MCd Amundsen
SC Holsen
SC Naismith
Subs
Heaton
Hudson
Perch
Clingan
Sutton

I managed to get sacked after my 1st season when i finished 15th but I had some decent signings. Rok Kronaveter and Mika Aaritalo were pretty good in the middle of the park. Guillaume Plessis and Didier Digard were also pretty good DMF's. Andreas Vasquez had a good average rating on the left wing and towards the end of the season i brought in Kevin Franck and Pep Guardiola who, despite playin well, couldnt save my job. Guardiola scored a hattrick of freekicks too!
