Getting the best out of Gerrard

Lads wonder if you could help,
I started with Villa and after two seasons was offered the Liverpool job which i accepted.
I looked at the previous fans player of the year and it was won by gerrard both years. Since ive joined he gets a 6 or 7 rating every game, he is never man of the match and never scores. Ive tried him at cm, amc, dmc, rm with various different amounts of creative freedom etc but nothing works. Just wondered if anybody else has experienced this with him. He isn't a patch on the influential Gerrard in real life or the two previous seasons on fm before i took over. Any suggestions?

Forward Runs Often
Through Balls Often

All I did to get 8,9 or 10s every match was put him at MR not AMR and left the MR default player instructions and I found this was the best way for him to play and won midfielder of the year, footballer of the year (world and European) and World player of the year 3 times on the treat.

he is notoriously tough to get the best out of! but i have been playing him in the middle with FWR often and the rest on mixed with CF on max and hes scored 15+ last 2 seasons with an average of over 7.50 but his assists aint great! i think about 7 or 8 a season! oh and mixed passing of around 8 i think!

totally agree put him in the middle with xabi alonso/mascherano on defensive mentality and make steviee g the playmaker...17 goals and 18 assists in first season average rating of 7.89 rarely played below 8 :cool:

although he was totally outshone by bianchi

average rating 8.12 and 32 assists 23 goals absolute class for 7 million :thup:

won the quadruple that season and jamie carragher scored 10 goals(all from corners on near post flick)

I KNOW jamie gets more goals in a season then he does in his entire carrer...go me :cool:
