I'm currently about to begin my 2nd season (2007/08) with Ajax and I have signed Carlos Vela.
Throughout Pre-Season I have played him in a number of different roles and had a reasonable amount of success, however I was just wondering how I should play him to get the best out of him. What player instructions do you give him and how many goals does he score for you?
I'm sorry if this has been asked before (which it probably has) but I did a couple of searches and couldn't find what I wanted.

In my past experiences, you should play him as a TM, who runs onto the ball. Next to a very fast player like Aguero etc.

Well tbh, you should completley forget what I just said and listen to this...
Use Vela as a Fast Striker next to a TM. The TM should have balls to head. And Vela should be on Forward Runs often. Give him the free role and he will run riot.

Iaquinta & Huntelaar are bothh fbb \o/ So you are in luck as you said. Vela & Iaquinta/Huntelaar should be an awesome partnership.

| Yeh Iaquinta is now my target man with focus passing to head, whilst Vela has now been given a high attacking mentality, high creative freedom, foward runs often, run with ball often and a free role. Hopefully this will rip the Dutch league apart  | |

He will rip the dutch league apart. And if you ever need a TM for Dutch League, Rolando Bianchi is world class. For Barnetboyz, he got an average rating of 9.04 in one season \o/ :eek:
