Not sure why the old one that Evsky started got closed, especially as Cleon had actually posted in it about his international games that he was playing at the time, but I'm starting a new one.

I got the England job when McClaren was sacked after getting knocked out of Euro 2008 by France in the quarter-final IIRR. I applied and the FA wanted me

First game in charge:

How are you playing without Jo ;]?

What tactic are you using? Diamond 4 - 4 - 2? I much prefer Rooney as a Stiker, so I was just wondering :p.

Confederations Cup winners
World Cup 4th place
Current Euro Champs qualifying group
Current squad

The game was started pre-patch so Ronney is eternally banned, and Luke Moore's stats are terrible because he is rotting in Chelsea's reserves atm otherwise he'd usualy be in.

I'm sure I won't be able to continue on this game too long without Jo as I'll probably get withdrawl symptoms.

I played Rooney at MCa in a flat 4-4-2 in that game as Lampard was injured. Could have gone with Hargreaves and Gerrard, but fancied trying Rooney at MCa for once. It also meant I could give Owen and Moore a game. I wouldn't have Moore in my team usually because his stats aren't great (especially 11 composure), but he got the golden boot with Villa last season so I'm giving him a chance.

Some good results there, but losing to France :thdn:

Is Brandy really that good? Even training him in my Man Utd game won't get him to international level I'm afraid

I'm hoping my group for the WC quals is quite easy (it should be) so I'm aiming for maximum points

And does a thread get closed automatically after 3 months of inactivity then?

Well he's scored in a few friendlies and qualifiers, but atm is mainly in because of injuries and the last game was a friendly where he played.

They usually do yes.

On another international note, Terry & Ferdinand both utter crap now.

I've retrained Brandy at MR on my game as I think he'd be better there.

Rio has been awesome for me for Utd so I can't leave him out. Who's your DC partnership then?

Ferdinand and Taylor have been at DC for the last couple of qualifiers.
Ferdinand still does a decent job except when with Terry tbf, who is looking worse despite being a couple years younger.
Dawson sometimes comes in with Taylor (my old domestic partnership).

Gonna be a few changes soon though as 3 of the 4 currently in the squad are 30+

I think LSTB's was the World Cup thread sponsored by Haribo Starmix! I had a search (which no-one seems to do on GPTG ffs!) and that and the old one were both closed.
