I assume with that stat that you're still on 7.0.0? Finishing is a little higher on 7.0.2, but still can't see him cutting it.

Yeah, started ages ago on 7.0.0.
Sure it was higher than that tbh, don't know why I did pick him if it is that poor

Maybe you were short of STs or something? Must have been a massive crisis to put him in the team.

I'm on 7.0.2 btw, have you not had an international offer on that version yet?

I think I must of been, or he might've been doing amazing for the U21s or at Man U.

And, no, I haven't played at international level on 7.0.2 mainly because I haven't played alot since the patch.
Might be tempted to start one though, or take an international job in one of my other 702 saves.

Ah, finally using the "search topic" does work!

I would like to discuss international management in FM07; I am currently managing Mexico. I decided to take ont he job in 2008 in order tO qualify for WC 2010 with theyoung and exciting players they have.

So far:

-Silver medal in Olympics after Penalty shoot-out loss to Argentina, who btw had an immense U23 side (Messi and Aguero to name a few).

-Vela is now 19 yrs old and has 9 goals in 6 internationals. seriously consider him for my parallell Milan game (same save, two managers).

-Qualifying going well. Second round currently against Jamaica, Guyana and Guatemala.

-Many youn guns in Mexican football: Vela, Dos Santos, Araujo, Esparza, Guardado and Villaluz.


Does anyone have any experience with Mexico? I hope I can challenge for the WC now with Vela being like 21 in 2010.

What about Ochoa - how's he doing for you?

Well, i use Ochoa as my regular keeper, but Mexico have really good keepers. Oswaldo Sanchez is a success at Real Betis, Alamo (sp?) is a regular at Porto and Ochoa just got a move to Europe (Paris SG). Both Alamo and Sanchez get a lot of praise in the media.

Ochoa played in the Olympics for me, which made Sanchez the nr 1 for the senior team for like three games meanwhile. In the olympics (U23) we conceded only one goal (1-1 vs Argentina) including 4-0 wins against Italy, Croatia and Japan.

So, Ochoa had done very well. But so has Sanchez.
