I've just arrived back from a friends house and I am completely puzzled. He isn't the greatest with computers so I patched up his FM for him etc.
It didn't take long so we decided to start a game for a bit of fun.
Next thing I knew his brother is sitting there playing not 2 meters from me with the CD in the drive. Naturally I thought he's got a No-CD crack but he hadn't and It certainly wasn't me. FM started normally it didn't ask for any CD upon the main menu like usual. (And no he didn't have two versions of the game)
Just to clarify it worked, I started a game and continued playing for about 3 - 4 weeks. Everything was fine, I was expecting errors or something.
Has anyone got an ideas on this witch-craft or did he have some sort of automatic pirating software on his desktop?
I was on the desktop computer, he was on the laptop. I booted the game from the start > Programs without the CD (without knowing) and it worked even though his brother was playing it on another.
Woah... now thats wierd... some kind of glitch? Or maybe your game doesn't need a CD to begin with... hmmm, maybe you've been scammed and bought a pirated version (GASP!) LOL.
Gee, I don't know. Sure the game wasn't minimized or running when the CD was gone?
