ok, i've decided to have a go at making a skin for the first time and i have a few questions.
1. where do i begin? it sounds daft but i don't know what i should do first
2. i've read the guide on sortitoutsi.net and i don't know where to find the graphics to recolour - all i have in the skin folder is .xml files, could anyone point me in the right direction?

i'm really sorry if these questions have been asked/answered in other posts but if they have i must have have missed it

never mind about question 2, i'm pretty sure i figured that out on my own, but i would still like to get some tips on how and where to start making my own skin.

ok, it doesnt matter about the first question now either. i took a skin that had already been made and decided to play around and change things to see the effect it had - that way i would understand how it worked.

so i changed the graphics for the 'normal' screen (with the tree menu at the side and with manager/club name at the top etc). i did not change anything else. but when i load the skin i expect to see everything work as it did before, just with a few changes in appearance, however all the text has disappeared, completely. what have i done wrong? am i just being completely stupid?
