I'm planning to make my own update and would like to be able to work from the most updated database possible.

I am not sure if there is one due to the release of fm 2006 coming soon
but there is a big demand for one and i think some people are making one.

Depends on what kind of update you're looking for. The most recent one right now is the .edt update that me and a few other people are working on. We have transfers up until yesterday for Spain, England and Italy + hopefully a few more on the way.
