The ref thing is not that important, yeah. I guess the computer assignes refs by the nationality of the league, and changing that can corrupt the data, i guess (or maybe not?).

There is the Austrian Lower League in the original data, but i've changed all the clubs in it with Estonian clubs, I just can't see a reason why the game wants to load up Austrian teams that are not in any league at all (because in the Estonian league, that is not playable at all, are the U18 teams for the Austrian Premier and First division Estonian-based clubs, as per your instructions Stevenhp1987, in case i haven't got anything mixed up).

Maybe, just maybe, can it be because there are too few Estonian clubs available, and that the game needs more of them so uses the Austrian clubs to have the right amount of clubs for the Cup comp.? would sure like to work out a solution..

maybe there are some austrain clubs without any league what so ever... Changing these round might do it, but you may need more estonian teams to fill the gaps.

I do have the Austrian clubs without (not assigned to) any league. But this is because after swapping the Austrian and Estonian First and Premier Division clubs, I assigned U18 teams (using the Add Team option) to all the Estonian clubs that now were at the Austrian leagues teams list. By that it was supposed to change the Estonian teams that I had put into the Austrian league back into Estonian nationality (because after the initial swapping the Estonian clubs became Austrian clubs and vice-versa with the Austrian teams). And it worked. So I had the right nationalities on all clubs, but because I had U18 teams in the Estonian Premier and First Div. now, the Austrian clubs (the real Aust. clubs, like Sturm, Salzburg and so on) were not assigned to any division at all. I have checked it in the game, and the Austrian clubs still play the European cups, I think it may be by their reputation, because they don't have a "last position" seen anymore in the official editor. And I believe this is exactly what you had in mind when you came up with your initial idea in this topic, which was quite good, I have to say.

So by saying "maybe there are some austrain clubs without any league what so ever... Changing these round might do it" in your last post, may I ask what the hell do you mean?

this is what I meant:-

Are there any austrian clubs not assigned to a league....

Well I am going to attempt to make a world super league on this idea.

And they will play in europe for the first season but wont the next as you estonian teams will qualify via austrias slots, lol, but they will for the first season. And if that league wasnt selected, eg just put rangers and celtic into the league as i have done. AS the scottish league is not selected, they will always be put into europe based on their start up (its always the same as the beginning i noticed). no matter where they go in the league.

Yes, there are Austrian clubs not assigned to a league. Does it matter? If it does, then the whole theory of yours is half complete, isn't it?

I thought because both the Austrian and Estonian clubs have qualified for European slots perfectly correct in the start of the game, it'll still be so when the game moves forward, and the Estonian teams will be qualifing for Europe via the Austrian league forever, and the Austrian clubs would still be qualifing by their rightful slots.

I just don't understand what do you mean by Rangers and Celtic and how do they concern the Austrian and Estonian league? Are you saying I should put the Austrian league back into the Austrian league mixed with Estonian teams? Please explain...

me thinks.

Basically this works exactly the same as team swap, except that they retain their nationality.

Any errors which are found by using the normal team swap idea will also happen here. It does not elminate this, just makes the nations change. If you try this idea with the standard method of teamswaping, it will give the same error, nothing that you can do about it.

ok, i went on holiday for a year to see what turns up in the second season.

the Austrian First Division had expanded from 10 clubs to 12 (that was probably meant to happen, but I'm not for sure, because I haven't played the Austrian league before) and three Austrian teams had been promoted (Sturm Graz, GAK and Kärnten) into the First Division. It may need reminding that none of the Austrian clubs were assigned to a league (using the official pregame editor).

What happened in Europe? Well, the Austrian cup winner (Austria Wien) was the only Austrian club that qualified for Europe, it turned out. But all four Estonian slots were still fulfilled correctly. I noticed there were two Belgian teams in the Champions League second qualifying round, so perhaps the game bended the rules a bit... Very weird!

So all in all, the cup competition is totally out of order and in the second season the European slots for Austrian clubs are totally wrong (only one team qualified).

So perhaps this information helps you a bit making the World League of yours. But I'd sure like to solve the Austrian club issue in my game too...

stevenhp1987 - does that mean you can have celtic and rangers in premier and put celtic and rangers reserves in scottish premier?
