there are other posts that talk about this, and i don't think chrissybabe is saying you can get liverpool in the qualifying rounds, just that you can get all 5 english teams in the competition. as opposed to real life the game does actually qualify the current holders, so if u update the champions league history to make liverpool 2005 winners they will be in the group stage. then you can just select champions league for everton and they'll become the 4th english team. the key thing to remember is you can change who's in europe, but you can't change seedings and numbers as it's all pre-coded, for example next season only boro and bolton in uefa cup but the game always enters 3 english teams, and so enters someone else automatically.

put liverpool as holders on the history of the champs lg and they will enter alongside chelsea + arsenal at the group stage while man u and everton go in the 3rd round

I wonder who loses their place to accommodate Liverpool then? Is it a team who would normally go straight into the group stage? Or do they get bumped down to qualifying, and others down a round so that it's someone from the very first qualifying round?

by putting liverpool in as holders its porto that are replaced! however, i think porto are set in the editor to qualify anyway, so ultimately another portuguese team misses out, probably the lowest seeded one.

But on one of my saved games Man Utd won the champions LEague and fiished 7th. The top 4 in the Premiership where Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle, Portsmouth.

Next season when the European qualifers were announced, Portsmouth had been shoved into the UEFA cup to accomodate room in the CL for Man Utd.

that's because on the game the holders automatically qualify, so man utd would have been in despite finishing 7th. dunno about the portsmouth thing, maybe once in game it does that, or maybe at the point of the game ur at england have lost a CL place, as it changes every season.

the point i was making was that BEFORE THE GAME STARTS you can get 5 english teams in CL, by assigning the 4 default places to chelsea, arsenal, man utd, everton, then making liverpool holders.
