You need more than a cheat mate! You need a bloody miracle! 
What data did you edit? And more importantly than that, did you make a backup of the db first?

| Looks like the game database has been corrupted. You can't do anything about it, though - it just tends to...happen.

You can do something about it, you could:
A) Revert the db to your backup (assuming you had the brains to do that!  )
B) Go back into the editor, reverse any changes which have occured and try again.

I've never tried it myself. I generally edit the database so extensively that if it doesn't work, then I don't bother to try and reverse them. It's been said before, and I'll say it again, the editor needs an edit tracker!

| Good idea, is that. Would help with people making updates in that they can show everyone exactly what changes have been made (lists could be exported into *.txt format).

No, I would definately NOT recommend exporting it into .txt format.
XML would be much better as the data could be preserved easier in customised elements.

I have the same problem. I just couldnt use the editor yet. TRied several things several times, it doesnt matter if its a big change or small change, every time i try to edit the database, the game crashes after i select the leagues i wanna play. I just have to replace the old database there. Well, it just sucks that the morons who did the research for barcelona got ronaldinho positions wrong, and i cant play barcelona in FM 2005 like they do in real life.
