Tactic that won UEFA Cup, F.A. Cup and League Cup, + 3rd in prem with Spurs
This tactic won me (see above) in my first season, it plays a Attacking 4-4-2 formation with one holding midfielder and one attacking midfielder. Using a Quick tempo combined with short passing, It produces some attractive football, with a solid defence and scores me goals. I implimented the tactic from the very first friendly as the players have to blend and get used to it. etc.
I'm not claiming the tactic wil work for you, or produce the same results as it did for me but I would be interested in knowing how you get on, and what tweeking you do to it etc etc.
P.S. With Spurs I bought Jankulovksi and Raul Garcia and played them in the followig positions
GK Paul Robinson
DR Pascal Chimbonda
DL Reto Ziegler
DC Ledley King
DC Matthew Dawson
MR Aaron Lenon
ML Marek Jankulovski
MC Raul Garcia (AMC)
MC Dider Zokora (DMC)
FC Dimitar Berbetov
FC Jermain Defoe/Mido/Robbie Keane
Wingbacks have a more direct passing setting as they where getting caught in possesion a bit to much.
DC's also have a mixed passing setting as the same thing happened, but with a mixed passing setting it lets them best decide how to get distribute the ball when under pressure + closing down and tight marking.
MC (DMC) Quick 'n' Short with high closing down
MC (AMC) Quick 'n' Short with med closing down + free role, and much creative freedom
