I think this is all getting a bit silly to be honest. You want a real football manager game but dont want to do the hard work to achieve results.I dont think anyone here expected to put game on 1st time and master it.Yiu have a full year to play it yet after 1 week people are giving up.So if game was easy and you won all the cups in 1st week would that not mean that after a while game got boring.

I'm kinda with Cleon on this one, if I interpret his/her comments correctly.
This game is about both tactics and strategy. It's not good enough to say "well I'm doing the (strategic) management bit so I shouldn't have to worry about tactics". It's about both.
And btw, to use SGE as an example as to why you shouldn't have to worry about tactics is laughable and proves the opposite point...Sven was strategically competent (even expert) but couldn't manage his way out of a bag once it came to on-the-field tactics...as a result we were the best prepared, most highly rated teams going into tournaments - and disappointed so horribly when it came to actually winning football matches.
This game is fine. It's hard at times, but it's fine. So your uber-tactic got figured out? Develop another one, it happens to everyone. If the game is honestly beyond new players, they should try the latest iteration of CM (really, it's not too bad and is, finally, at least a perfect youth system for FM), and then come back.

well personally i do not like the new system before it was tactically enough for me if i played the same formation for too long my opposition would wise up so every 3 or 4 i'd tweak my formation a little but the new one i have a solid team for the championship and should without putting anything tactically in it win games no matter but no i lose to bottom teams in the league thats just bs to me. i dont like spending an hour before a game sorting through the tactic screen i like to put my 4-4-2 formation and play one centre midfield attackive and one defensive while the too wide players play very attackive and put crosses in . i dont like having to tweak every little detail it gets a little tedious. si are taking the fun out of this game rapidly for me and am starting to not want to play it cause no matter what i try it doesn't help. and the little things bug me about this game like the chairman of sheff wed dave allen "loves the club" well if thats true why the hell is he their all he wants is the money he put in back, not forgetting when he put that money in he said it's because he loves the club that to me sounds like he wasnt doing it for what he could get out of it. he's said over and over i'll step down if when it happens he refuses and that is widely known so why isnt in fm07 that he soon will be removed very soon hopefully. i shut up now but i think this game is slowly getting boring i offer players out for free no one wants them ov course a club is gonna buy them 4 nothing. when im a big club i have 2 drop 10 million off there value just to sell someone i dont want its stupid.

So the basic response to the game being inacurate is that it must be difficult and thats why we complain? Wrong! The fact is most managers have success in their first season but struggle afterwards, from what I can tell what with excessive injuries and incredulous red cards, the chances of success first time are zero. That is unrealistic and no CM is gonna fix that. In fact to suggest FM is some kind of superior expert game is wrong, its a game, if you want a tactical expert analysis then make this a book or better still offer it at a college or Uni. And if a game got boring cos you were winning then why do they have the history side of the game and Hall of Fame?

As long as SI does not provide us with a in depth game-guide, we are all walking in the dark with tactics. Let us face it. Nobody really knows what tactics is all about. What do the sliders really do? What is team creativity precisely? And what does mentality, Closing down etc really do?
Strange that we are still guessing about this stuff and writing epistels about it (wwfan, cleon) every single new game.

munch, your parody is so perfectly observed that I tip my hat to you.
You were joking, right? It was almost too good for me to be sure.

| lol The funniest comment ever
and I'm with Cleon. I think he summed it all up when he said it's a "management" simulator. If you look up simulator you'll find something intresting. Fair enough you lads felt all the recent CM/FM's were easy but things evolve as that's things that happen in life.

Cleon. Lots of people???!!! You mean do not know exactly how it works.
Tactical Theorems and Frameworks '07 Page 1 2 3 4 : with 17.000 views is one of the best topics.
That means a lot of people are searching for info about how tactics and sliders etc really works.
It should be in the game guide. It has become more and more complicated over the years.
