First off do i have the target man attributes correct? JUMPING - STRENGTH - OFF THE BALL
Second does height make more of a difference in this one?
Third does target man work better with alone forward or with two forwards?
Fourth and last in the premiership what do i want the target man attributes to be above and what do i want the height to be above?
Thanks in advance |

I find a tall target man with a pacey striker works best. With West Brom (season 4) my strikers Crouch and Daniel Sturidge managed to score 38 goals between them.
Crouch was the target man with the supply to his head.

I've usually looking for target man whose key attributes are 16 or more, or those 3 atts combined over 50. That's pretty much needed in premiership level, although there are exceptions... good finishing would be great also, but pretty hard to find. Ariza Makukula suggested...

eddie johnson from the USA is a great target man. excellent physical stats. wins like 90% of the headers you put to him.

Thanks for the feedback guys
I'll have a look at the players you both suggested.
The only thing left that i would like some help on is, how realative is height in this game? because in FM 2006 it didn't seem to have any effect on the match engine
Thanks again guys

A target man can also be a fast striker running into the space behind the opponents GK and defenders. Bellamy is high class doing this. His target man instruction is run onto ball.
Preferably your team should sit back and let the opponents come forward. This should create the space needed to play with this target man settings. Also your team should play with a certain degree of through balls, often for dedicated players and mixed for most of the players. Also direct passing for the backline players should enable them to pass the ball into this space.
The downfall is that it is less efficient against a team sitting back, even though the target man scores in such mathces also, they do not score as frequently.

kevin davies with anelka at bolton is the best partnership, set davies target man with ball to head. anelka has pace to win the flick on and score, play with a diamond midfield with an attaking midfielder who has a good shot and he'l score a heap from knock downs/second balls

The best target men in my game have all been those with good jumping and heading. Played alongside a pacey striker and in front of a creative AM set to throughballs.
