Hi, I rarely post in this Forum but I visit it often to read wwfan's, synax' etc. articles/theories.

Now I was just wondering what you lot do when you're in a Cup Final. I mean, i'm Liverpool on FM07, and in my first season I got to the FA Cup and CL Final, only to lose to Chelsea (1-0) and Barcelona (penalties) respectively.

For the Chelsea game I used my 'Home' tactic which was fairly attacking. In the end I was deservedly beaten. Then for the CL Final I decided to go with a more Neutral 4-4-1-1 formation and as I said, the Tactic nowhere near as Attacking as the Chelsea game. I ended up losing on pens after drawing 1-1 in the game against Barca, but I did dominate this game.

Then in my second season in charge I won the Treble. The Prmiership was won using my Home and Away tactics mainly but the FA Cup and CL were won using the same Neutral Tactic I used against Barca in the CL Final of '07. So the question hidden in here is, when you play Cup Finals do you use a Home or Away Tactic or do you make a Neutral one?

Thrill me please, i'd like to know

I'm in no way considered a tactical master, and contribution this forum over past few weeks have been non existent.

Although if i was to approach this situation I'd recommend checking the odds. If you are favourites to win then go for the win. If you are favourites to lose then employ your away tactic and hit them on the counter.

If it's a 50-50 then go neutral as you suggested.


Although also if you are expected to lose it doesn't hurt to hit them hard in the first 10 minutes;

Depends what opposition I'm up against. If it's world class opp (in your case Chelsea and Barcelone) I'd go with the away tactic despite being on neautral ground. If I was going attacking against those teams then I would get battered.

Depends completely on the team you are playing but on the whole I would normally play the away tactic but be prepared to change fairly early if it is not working.
