20 shots on goal a game- but no goals why?

I had the same problem before, would get 20 shots a game on net but barely a goal or two. Then I went into formations and put both my forwards to not try any long shots and also put them both on short passing and run with ball and forward runs. Now I am winning games 3-0 and sometimes even 5 or 6. I currently beat AC Milan in the Champions League Final 5-2 and Arsenal 5-1 in the FA CUP. Also this will give ur attackers more assists as they run with the ball and get one or two defenders on them, and then it opens up for the other striker which they give a short pass to. Torres played 22 games for me in total last season: 9goals 10 ast and 4 MOM.

Please, do tell us some more JarJar. Maybe open a new thread describing your tactic with screenshots and your thoughts about it.
Though 9 goals in 22 games for a world class striker like Torres is not really that much. But if the goals are coming from all over the place, this might not be such a problem.

That don't work had it on that before same results 0 goals 3 one on ones missed and countless long shots when my strikers are told not to make long shots

I'm starting to get frustrated too. Sometimes strikers have been played in by their teammate and hit it first time, usually skywards, when he really should have taken a few touches. Or one on one situations end up being shot straight down the keeper's throat.

I totally agree, less shots and convert them realistically.

It seems as though SI are doing their very best to kill this game off once and for all. I mean they've had a good few attempts but people STILL keep buying it.
They stick a demo out that lets people see it's clearly not worth it and they still buy it. Who are the mugs?

So that you end up with less chances, but when you get them they are converted more realisticaly.

Id rather see a scoreline of

2-0 with 12 shots (7 on target) against 5 shots (2 on target)

rather then the current

2-0 with 24 shots (16 on Target) against 14 shots (9 on target)

I mean seriously, keepers must be amazing in Fm2008, they save more then a dozen goals a game.

Also another thing with keepers is penalties, the save rate for penalties must be at least 70%.

In all the penalty shootouts i think ive seen Cech let in 2 penalties out of maybe 20 shot at him.

Ah so it isnt just me then.

Its so annoying setting a team up defensively and see it get cut to shreds, yet win 2-0.

I get cut to shreds EVERY game yet i have the second best defence in La Liga behind Barcelona, yet the number of shots Canizares saves is unealistic, as is the number of chances being created.

I understand your frustration, but what if you had 20 shots on target of which every match, say, 12 would be goals? Not very realistically, of course. More realistic would it be when you had fewer shots on target than 20 every match.

Ok im getting anouyed with this game now my team cant score i draw every match.

And people complained about 07 in my view 07 beats the hell out of this slaped together piece of crap they call a game.

Do us all a favor and test the next game before realising it as a finshed product.
