I use version 7.0.2
I'm sure most of us have a little sub-conscious list in our heads of who to buy when starting up a new game of FM. Some players are great to use when managing a medium-low level club because they're affordable, young and have great potential. Some are great no matter who you go, as long as you can pay the transfer fee and afford the wages. But there's 2 players i've found are always consistent no matter what team they play for and no matter which of their competent positions you play them in. Thomas Kahlenberg of Auxerre is one. He can play pretty much anywhere in midfield and is a great attacking player. Sometimes he's bought as a utilty player for when any of the midfield players pick up an injury but when given the chance to play he always performs well. The other is Thomas Vermaelen of Ajax. Aside from Vedran Corluka he is one of the best CB's on the game ive found. Season after season he consistently plays 8's and 9's and scores no less than 8 goals from moving up for set pieces.
Has anybody else had any similar experinces with these players or even any bad ones? I'm yet to see these guys play poorly on the game.
