The Association Sportive de Monaco Football Club is a Monegasque football club, founded in 1919. They became a professional club after 1948. Although the club is in Monaco, it has always competed in the French football structure. For this reason, it has always been regarded with a certain suspicion by a segment of the French population. It is one of the most successful clubs in French football, with seven league titles and five French Cup titles. It has also had some successful campaigns in Europe, including a run to the final of the UEFA Champions League, in 2004, but it has not won a European competition.
Monaco were shock finalists in the UEFA Champions League in 2004, impressively beating the likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea along the way there, but they were defeated by FC Porto in the final, losing the match 3-0.

SUMMARY
A mid table club in recent times but this club holds prestige in the french league for their 7 league wins and 5 cup wins and they almost became the first french side since their rivals Marseille to win the Champions League under Didier Deschamps.
Their squad had gotten better in this update with Almirion coming in from Juventus on loan to boost the midfield, the most obvious lost was that of Jan Koller the big Czech now retired from the game leaving a good absence in attack and because he was the most effective target striker in the game.
Defense needs work as half of their players are up to the 150's range but need that boost, Midfield and Wings are good and Strikeforce needs reinforcement in order for them to be good and effective.
This squad will give you a challenge especially if you are going to try and break Lyon's grip on the league.
KEY PLAYERS
Jeremy Menez - Everyone knows what he can do, nuff said.
Sergio Almiron - Monaco have gained on loan one very effective midfielder that can do the job, I haven't seen him play but his stats will ensure that he will become a 1st teamer.
Frédéric Piquionne - The only good striker in AS as far as I'm concerned, the only target attacker left thanks to Koller's retirement and if you put him up with a fast striker then you will get a good partnership
Leo Schwechlen - He's gotten better on this patch as he's now a -9 so you might want to keep an eye on his progress... either he becomes an effective central defender or can be a good left full back
Other players to watch out for
Ignacio Gonzalez
Serge Gakpe
Lukman Haruna
Djmael Bakar
Nene
Massama Sambo

TARGETS
You might want to look at boosting the defense and the attack with transfer listed players and loans especially with unknown players that no one has practically heard of, it's up to you though.
You don't want to go overboard because Distel Zola will become one for the future with proper training and the reserves are in the lower leagues of French football so they do get to play

Here's to a good challenge
