Started a game as Aston Villa and at the end of the 1st season the board announced a stadium expansion. This was completed in November 2008, increasing the capacity to 55,000. However when I returned to my saved game the following day the capacity was back down to the original 42,600. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
Does anyone know if I fix it in the editor will it only take effect when I start a new game? I am currently using an edited database not the default.

I can only assume that you didn't save the game after the stadium increase. Play the game for another month or so and see if it increases again.
This happenned to me with newcastle, my nice 60000 capacity St. James' Park disappeared. This was a bug which was (apparently) fixed by the patch. If you use fmm, or something like that, you can increase the stadium size and it should stay.

Will this work on an existing game though, or just when you start a new one?

If you have save games of before and after this problem, please be a star and load them up to the "Football Manager 2008 Bugs Forum".
SI always need to see your saves so they can work out what has gone wrong.
I don't think I have. I work on a 2 week, 3 file, rolling autosave so any games before the problem will have been overwritten. Sorry!
