Correct, in general! Quote:

So, the players that we possess in our squad are just as good as they were in 8.0.1?
We just have to ignore the training arrows for a while?
| Yes, their CA is intact. Ignore the arrows for a period of time.

Are you sure that is the case PaulC in respects of the higher physical stats of regens? I kept a save game which was 3 weeks before I got my youth intake so I could test some regens in 8.0.2 and they seem very similar and in some respects just as bad when it comes to physical stats. I did have a couple that had immense pace and acceleration but when it came to strength and stamina some of these figures were as low as 2, and no one of them was higher than 10 in those two fields. I tested about 15 intakes, totalling about 100 regens.
If not is not a suitable way to test that them sorry and please disregard this post, I just can't seem to see a difference in this patch and the physical stats still look very poor and it's worrying me that long term games are out of the question until FM 2009.

| Their strength and stamina can grow in the first few years of their career.
To say long term games are out of the question in 8.0.2 is cutting your nose off to spite your face, in all honesty.

Do the base levels for training still apply i.e. the default General schedule will give a steady rate of progression if CA points are still available, and will maintain attributes at this level once the relevant controlling aspects of the development model are maxed (ignoring the general oscillations about this 'natural' attribute level due to morale, condition, fatigue etc.)?
I hope that makes sense

Thanks for the reply PaulC
I'll run with it I guess, see how it turns out, but it's not just strength and stamina, I have defenders coming in that look the business in terms of heading/marking/tackling yet have sub 5 for concentration and positioning (this is from the 8.0.2 intake).
Yeah I might get a regen defender that gets to 20 for heading/jumping/tackling, but it's all for nothing if his strength, positioning, jumping and concentration were sub 10... or am I missing a vital point somewhere that I'm overlooking? Sorry if I'm sounding constantly negative, I'm more curious is all.

Thanks for all the prompt replies Paul
Couple of quick questions
1. Is this why the starting attributes for young players are now lower? Pablo Piatti and Torje are prime examples as each of their attributes starts out 2 points lower than it used to in 8.0.1 but I checked in the editor and their CA is untouched.
2. Could you give us some information on how training progression has been tweaked? On 8.0.0 it was possible to gain 2-3 points in each attribute over the course of a season, then on 8.0.1 you were lucky if your players gained 1 point in each attribute each season. Is 8.0.2 somewhere in between as several people felt 8.0.1 progression was too slow
3. Is it possible for pace and acceleration to increase? These attributes hardly ever went up in 8.0.1. Agian going back to the Torje example, he now starts with pace 13 and acceleration 14 (as opposed to 15 and 16) on 8.0.1 so if these never go up there's not much chance of him turning into a great winger.
Again, thanks for your responses

Ok, my last post for a while as I have lots to do! Quote: |

| That sounds about right Quote: |

| But mental attributes such as concentration and positioning can increase all the way through a player's career. If they all start too high they will max out or stop improving. if ever FM simulated player "experience", then its here. Quote:

| 1. Yes
2. Riz has posted in another thread today here.
3. Only to a point. We see them as essentially natural attributes that players are born with.
Cheers,
Paul |
