Default Physios

Hello

How does employing more than one physio affect the length of time that an injured player is out for?

I've normally stuck to one physio in the past but my new club have four hired already and with the wage bill sky high I just wondered whether sacking 2 of them say, would affect my currently injured players?

That's a good question that I've been asking since FM06.
Does the whole physio team benefit from the ability of the top physio, as appears to be the case when assigning two coaches to one discipline.

From my observations, there is no apparent advantage in having more than physio.
The Physiotherapy statistic is seemingly worthless too.
The factor for determining how good a Physio is, seems to be Reputation. I could however be wrong - it could be CA (as with scouts) but I've never explored that theory.

As far as I'm aware, Physios don't actually affect the speed of recovery, they predict with varying degrees of accuracy how long a player is expected to be injured for.

I could very well be wrong, I've made a few big posts about staff but nobody's ever been able to answer most of the questions.

I'd imagine that having more physios wouldn't speed up the rate at which one player recovers per se, although it would reduce the workload on all physios if you have multiple injured players and so players who are injured will recover faster than if there were just one physios treating 5 injuries.

does that help?

A physio with 20 for physiotherapy will give a better indication of time injured than a physio with 12 for physiotherapy. Id say more physio's will reduce the workload which may help quicker recovery times, possibly.

I haven't really tested this in FM08, but I can categorically state that this is NOT true in FM06 and FM07.
I could hire an Obscure physio with a stat of 20 and he would give vague predictions. A Continental physio with a stat of 12 was able to give quite specific durations.
The physio reports also came from the coach with the higher reputation too.

In FM08 I have a Physio with a 15 Stat who has just told me a player will be out between 3 weeks and two months - the window of uncertainty is nearly twice as long as the minimum potential duration!
He has a Local reputation.

But does anyone have any evidence of this?
