I have only just managed to play the new patch today but i must admit i was a little scared after reading some of the posts on this forum (especially those stating that there far too many goals).
Anyways i started a new game with Newcastle and i must say i think SI have done a great job with the match engine. I have only played 12 games (so things might change) but my first impressions are very good. The number and type of chances created in games seems to have reduced to the right amount of which i would usually see in a premiership game, of these chances strikers seem to convert about a right amount.
Posts are saying that there are way too many goals. In my game i have played 11 games, i have conceded 13 and scored 11, sounds about right for newcastle. I know 11 games is not conlclusive but it just feels right. My defenders have also not scored a single goal yet so dont experience this defender - corner problem.
Also im glad they have managed to make managing Newcastle much more of a challenge. Martins is no longer a superman.
These are just my first impressions and i am still yet to observe the regen - development issue (which i always thought was the biggest problem), but i must say Well Done SI
I take it you haven't scored too many from corners yet? I didn't change my corner set-up from 8.0.1 and scored a shedload, way too many. Back to 8.0.1 for me sadly.
I too play NUFC and I am into my 3rd season (last 2 seasons with old patches) 3rd with new patch and really enjoying the game. As far as the corner issues goes no such luck..my lot miss shed loads..lol
