When playing FM with the new patch does anyone find their computer running slowly than it did before the new patch?

Since the new patch my computer is so much slowly. the page file usage goes up from 400mb ish up to nearly 1.5gb and RAM goes from 800mb available to around 10mb.

If im correct those syptoms sounds like a memory leak. but im no expert. i just know this new patch has changed something for me.

P.S this isnt the usual 'i hate SI rubbish'! because i dont just wondering if its happened to anyoen else

Not me. But the 4gb Ram could have something to do with that.

its weird though cause i didnt have this problem before the new patch and its deffo fm causing it, because as soon as it shut it down, everything goes back to normal.

also all other games and such work fine and dont have the same problem.

Have you used any savegame editors at all?

Do you have your anti-virus software (or any other programs/download software/mp3 players) on at the same time as playing the game?


Just like Nepenthez, this hasn't happened to me either so I would suggest it would be more than likely due to other conflicting software running on your PC.

Have you started a new game since patching or carried on an old save?

How many leagues/divisions have you loaded?

no editors and yeh i have my antivirus running but its never posed any problems before.

i started a new game running the same amount of leagues as before (i.e when it ran perfectly).

ill also add i reformatted my computer but that didnt make a difference.

do you really mean a reformat? If so I'm sure a defrag would have been the right choice

My guess would be that perhaps you have the same leagues but have selected "load all players from" for the league you are playing in?

If so this would mean you have loaded up players from the lower leagues that if managing higker placed team will never get seen by you

Could you confirm idf this was the case, at the worse it simply lessens the list of what it could be

yes i reformatted and a full one. not a quick one where data is still there.

erm i selected all english leagues, and top brazilian, french, spanish, italian. so about 15 leagues roughly on medium detail. all other options are left default such as ' load all players from'.

like i said exactly the same as before patch just now it dies on me.

That does seem to suggest that something is horribly wrong.

Although your Antivirus hasn't caused you problems before the patch, have you tried disabling it anyway and seeing if it makes a difference?

It is certainly worth a try.

If you have already tried this unsuccessfully, it would be worth you starting a new thread in the Bugs forum and detailing the problem so it can be investigated.

I have actually noticed my computer running very slowly of late. Ran some usual maintenance but I seem to still have the problem.

Saying that I have recently installed a new anti-virus program.
