You could bump things up for the short term thorugh the editor\finances options to put up ticket prices and their balance but in the long term there might still be a problem.
uh, im my db, when i attempted to edit the type of appearance for defoe (as steve directed), everyone's clause includes AFTER INTERNATIONAL APPEARANCES. defoe, diarra, everyone. i checked some other premier league teams and all of appearance money clauses are set to after international appearances. surely, this isnt correct. is it some weird editor bug?

ya i had the same issue....but for defoe it was set to after 50 goals spurs get 1 mil...ijust changed it to after 50 appareances...i assume this is right?

Open the Editor, this will be in your game root directory.
Load the "8.0.2 Update" database.
Select Clubs
In the filter type "Portsmouth" and press enter.
Double click "Portsmouth"
In the left sided menu click on "Finances"
In the tabs across the top chose "Contract Clauses 2"
Now look down and where you see Lassana Diarra's contract clauses you'll see they are being paid to Chelsea.
Click on the Magnifying glass next to the name and type Arsenal into the filter.
Double Click Arsenal
Do this for all Diarra's clauses.
While you're in there fix Jermain Defoe as well.
Scroll down to his name.
Where it has 1000000 look to the right to where it says "per league appearance" left click this button and change it to "after league appearance"
Save the database (call it something you'll remember) and when you start a new game select that database.

Please can you move these instruction there to help other non 'IT geeks' change the Diarra and Defoe issue. At last there are some instructions for the 'less technical'. Thanks again Steve. No offence to all IT geeks out there , well only some offence...
IsIs there any difference in the Mac version? I just downloaded it last night and checked this out, Defoe's clause was "After League Goals" though I still changed it to "After League Appearances", the Diarra thing was the same as described.
