I'm really not having a go at SI before anyone accuses me of such, I love CM/FM, always have done, and I know I will continue to buy and play it, it just surprises me they would leave in a feature they KNOW is broken (ie the Board Confidence issue).
I understand it may not be easy to fix but in that case perhaps leave it out? I just can't imagine the same happening in any other type of game. Say in a racing game you come 1st but game acts like you came last. Bad example but you would not accept that.
To end on a positive note, keep up the good work SI, you have made a fantastic product and it's still by far the best football management sim EVER.
I have to agree with all of that. I as a kid tried all kinds of Football Sims and could get one that i really liked.
Then Championship Manager came along and i've not played any other since. Despite being informed by my 6 year old that at 35 i'm to old to be playing it
bloody kids, dont they know that FM has and continues to be the best football Sim out there
But people aren't happy with the changes made in a single year, that's the point. Plus it's not in a single year because they often will spend up til Feb and beyond working on the previous installment (ie FM08 still being sorted now!)
I don't think you can speak for everyone or even the majority when you say "people aren't happy with the changes made". And just because we have just released a patch doesn't mean we haven't been working on other things in the meantime.

Plenty of games are not brought out every single year and are still financially viable. The Gears of War trilogy will not be 1 game a year. I could go on forever.
Pretty sure the developers of Gears of War make other games as well and don't rely on just one.

I KNOW Football Manager by its' nature needs to be more frequent, but I genuinely think if they were allowed by SEGA to produce a game, then update it every year, then every 2 years lets say, bring out a new one, we would have much less complaints.
You would still get complaints, that's for sure. A lot of people like to see advancement and improvements each version whereas other people may want something different.
At the end of the day all we can do is what we think is right to the best of our abilities and if it's not working then we'll soon know when people stop buying the game.
totally agree. i would be happy to pay for a thoroughly researched data update (with rule changes etc included).
if a truly 'new' version of the game was released every 2-3 years with some radical changes then i think we would be much more impressed.
as it is i think we already are in the situation where many may feel that they are over-paying for an error-strewn update. unfortunately the basic formula is so addictive we cant avoid it!
