It would be pretty difficult to make a 'basic' skinning guide. If i were you i would wait to see what ter comes up with when that guide gets released and see where to go fromt there.

I too would like to get into making skins for myself.

is there a guide on how to make them anywhere ?

We've been led to believe that Ter is writing a series of skinning guides and they will eventually be available one day.

I look forward to making a skin when they come out too - maybe to coincide with the release of Football Manager 2008...
