Default Text styles in xml - Embossed, shadowed...

I presume its possible to also have the text style with a black outline like player names on the 2D pitch.

What would I use in the .xml to get this effect? I have tried "outline" and "outlined" and a few others but to no avail. It would really help with my upcoming son of chameleon project.

That's a fair question.

I wanted to use this effect on my Hellenic transparent skin for the navigation text but I had to settle with "embossed".

Ter?

There's also the question of the text colour used for the players' names on the 2D pitch. Can it be defaulted to be white for all teams?
Presently seems like it's coded so that it uses the team's secondary colour.

I've had a play around with some of these styles and I've got a section on it in the guides, but I'm not too sure how these work or if you can set your own outline colours etc

So do you know what the style name is for text with a black outline or if its possible?

I am not bothered about colour - the black that you see on the 2D pitch would be perfect.

I have literally tried everything i can think of:

"outlined"
"outline"
"border"
"pitch"
"player"
"line"
"highlighted"
"highlights"
"black_outline"

No luck. Anyone any idea at all?

this is a very long shot, but would it be possible to edit the font itself to have a dark/black outline??

I wouldn't have thought so but good try. I suspect fonts hae to be black or white rather than shades of black so that they can be recoloured and stuff. Even If i could I recon that FM would recolour it.

The bit i want it for is when text is highlighted on the tree. With my wrap around skin the text needs to change with the background colour but highlighted option colour is a constant, set in the fmcolours.xml or something.

It virtually impossible to set is as a neutral colour as there is always going to be a team with a similar colour and a clash happening.

If i could set the text to white but having a black outline then it would work on all skins.

I can't use a text which is just an outline and set it to black either because when there is a black background team, things would not show.

i was pretty sure that a skin in CM had outline used somewhere other than the pitch, so was trying to find the style, but couldn't find the same skin again (couldnt remember what one it was, so was just trying the ones i had).

it's a pain in the ar5e that we've even got to try and guess this stuff - 3 iterations in and we've still not got any design guides (and i don't mean skinning guides for dummies - i mean a document outlining the variables available, what can be used together etc)
