Hi. Having played FM 2005 constantly since it's release I have now exhausted my interest in managing existing teams. I am for the first time ever going to cheat and use the editor to create my own club and set of players.
Does anyone have a clear guide on stats? the 1-20 system seems reasonably obvious but a few hints would be useful in case I've not grasped key principles. I understand how ability and potential work and how it's tied to playing stats but am unsure of the ranges.
Can someone give me the potential ability ranges for the following player levels? I've included an example relating to greats but if this is wrong then let me know.....
Conference / Lower League
Championship Level
Premiership Level
International Level
World Class
Greats (Pele Maradona etc) 195-200?
Also, can someone explain how the development of a players ability increases as he moves toward his peak age?
Apologies if this is covered elsewhere and if so could I pointed in the right direction?

I point you in the right direction which is the word 'Find' and a magnifying glass.
There is no set range for leagues as you could have the next Pele come from a lower league side.
Wow was that sarcasm?
In the words of Jack Burton, "Are you crazy? Is that your problem?"
Regarding leagues, I didn't mean a range based on leagues I meant the max standard a player can achieve based on his ability rating. So a Pele could start in a lower league but his potential would get him into a top club. Where as a player of poor potential would likely not rise to top class football.
