Is there a way in which I can achieve this? In lieu of having ineffective scouts, I like to know how good players are/will be - partly because they are more accurate and partly because it saves money on scouts' wages.

You have to download MiniScout. It tells you the CA PA and selling price of any player you click on. If you using patch 8.02 a new MiniScout version has to be designed. It's probobly being designed now but it probably wont be out for a while.

There is a thread a few threads belows yours which says that :

FM Genie Scout WORK with 8.0.2 patch

Click into it and try and see if it will help you.

I have and love MiniSE, but it doesn't seem to work with 8.0.2
