'do it for the supporters' seems to work best for me in cup matches or matches against rivals where the supporters would be really passionate about winning

i usually tell them that they can win this game, to give them a bit of self belief, and then subsequently give them a rollicking when they we are 2-0 down at half time.

i check the results bof my team talks, before during and after and the majority have no noticeable affect with the others not listening. The only one i never use is luck as it seems a bit lame.
never tried using the assistant manager option.

I don't know if it's just me, but I use The "Pressure if off" optoin quite a lot, with my Arsenal team, when they are playing bigger teams, or when I'm playing my youngsters in the Carling Cup. For me it works wuite good, but a lor of times I fing that they creat 5-6 really great chances, score one and they "stop" playing, and I'm lucky if I don't conced. Thats why at half-time I usually change my team-talk to something else.
Also, in your experience which option is better for an individual player:
- Pressure is of (maybe this makes them relay and enjoy their footy)
or
- Expect a performance tonight (Maybe too much pressure on a player?)

ive used "expect a performance" before for a squad member who was coming in for a star player, to prove himself and it worked great! 1 goal 2 assists.
ive also found that if your team talk hasnt worked at half time say the opposite to them than what you said before. eg, if you said you expect a win and your struggling, take the pressure off at halftime and it works wonders! vice versa, if you said pressures off and its not working put the pressure on by telling them your dissappointed!
ive also found if your team talk works and your winning then keep it the same (or as near as) at halftime and you should go on to win!
common sense should be used for pre match talks. if your not sure put it into real life and say what you think should be said for that situation! also media talks before a match impacts on pre-match talks, for instance for big games i said form goes out the window i just want a good performance and for my team talk i wished luck and ive over performed in the game beating the likes of chelsea at the bridge 2-0!
