Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Training in new positions

i jus need some answers

how long does it take?
do u have to change their training schedules?
do you have to be playing them in their new positions?
and is it really worthwhile?

ive bought marcelo for arsenal he is 18 and has better attacking states than any of my youth team strikers will he turn out to be as good as his attributes potentially say, if i make him a striker?

How long it takes varies from player to player. The younger players can be retrained easier then older players, as they don't get upset with learning a new position.

It helps to change their routine to something suited to their new position. There's no point training a MC you want to be a SC with a lot of defending.

Playing them in their new position does help. But be ready for them to play badly whilst they get used to the new position.

It is worth it if you've got a small squad or if their attributes aren't really suited to their position.
For example in my game I had a DR come through the youth team and his pace would never be good enough for that position. So I trained him as a DC.

It's the attributes that determines how a player is at his job. So your player should be fine once his positional training is working, before that be ready for some poor performances.

I dont suppose someone could just quickly tell me how you actually train players to play in new positions? I'm sure it must be in the manual somewhere but I cant see it
