It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default 4-2-3-1 + 4-4-2 TT&F Tactic v2 By Synax

4-2-3-1 + 4-4-2 TT&F Tactic v2 By Synax

I would just like to say well done to italy even though i believe their below the belt tactics where extreme it worked for them. Italys goal the ball went accross the side line for out of play so i believe the goal they got shouldn't have been allowed, ITV showed the fourth offical looking for a screen on the Zidane situation, so Zidane couldn't have been officialy sent off as this is against the rules, if you go in the world cup thread i have copyed and pasted an interview from Metarazi, Gallas and Zidane. Metarazi admits insulting Zidane even though he opened the interview claiming of no such thing, i would love for Zidane to return one more time to prove his new critics wrong and end on a good note as he was upset about this.

And if he does not return, Zidane, you are easily one of the greatest of all time and a god amongst footballers, enjoy your retirement.

This thread is similar to my first tactic thread, this saves any confusion.

I posted a tactic several days ago, and the comments where good and i was extremely pleased and determind to create an even better tactic, i thank the below people i have quoted, you have kept me wanting to create better tactics and visit the forums alot more. Thank you.

Jackie - "I seem to be scoring quite a lot of goals and performing superbly. I am getting between 10-15 shots on target every match"

Sir Bobby Moore II - "Nice one Synax, glad to see you got it all sorted! Well done!!, It looks extremely good. I am very impressed."

wwfan - "That's a pretty decent set of results at any level. On first impression it seems you have really understood how TT&F works as your systems look and

play in the way a good TT&F tactic should."

Strankan - "Have to say that your defensive results are incredible."

LiverpoolSimplyTheBest - "Some very good results there and your defensive record is simply sensational! I've only ever made one Tactic which has made by defenders play like Gods and this is very similar to that Tactic."

pele10 - "the defence has kicked in(so solid at the back)and i'm still scoring loads of goals."

Anfieldid - "Congratulations on this set of tactics, I'm having great success with them.
21 wins and a draw out of 22 games with my Basel team."

brokas - "I'm trying it with Napoles and i'm currently on Serie A, and I must say I like your tactic very much"

Introduction

This is the second tactic i have created, i have got feedback from the forums i have put it on and developed this, a 4-2-3-1. My first attempt at a 4-2-3-1 went wrong and this led to the 4-4-2 Free role many of you people used. After reading how people thought my defensive unit and positioning was tight i did get the odd person say they scored a terrific amount but conceeded what they believe, to many for the team. I turned back to the 4-2-3-1, as i believe i could get it to work and it has, i have conceeded less then before. There is a few less scored but it feels more correct and its nicer to win and rarely let a goal in.

Again, this tactic was made for more upper league teams but after testing extensivly with Hartlepool United it is abit more balanced this time for lower league teams.

Again the same as before, if anybody tries this tactic, and sees how it can be improved, please PM me or reply in this thread, you will be credited for helping with the tactic.

Note* With each team i did NOT buy anybody, i used the default team.

Tested Teams -
Juventus
Liverpool
Intermilan
Hartlepool United
Lyon
France National Team

Original Tactic 1 Introduction

I have tried a lot of tactics in the past, some were good and some bad. When I decided to play as Juventus I couldn't find a suitable tactic, and when I did these tactics never lead my team to beat teams like Intermilan, AC Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester United etc. I decided to venture into my own tactic. To start I decided to read posts from people such as Wwfan, Sir Bob, Justified, Mark Vaughn and many more, trying to get a better knowledge of what every slider does and how to use certain slider settings for certain situations such as time wasting for defending a lead. After this I downloaded many tactics and tried to see how they help in certain ways and why one tactic would dominate over another. My first own tactic was a 4-1-2-1-2, This worked ok for me and very often my attacking mid centre would get a 10 rating and man of the match, but it let down against the top teams and defensively wasn't tight. A 4-2-3-1 was next; similar to the current France formation (I am half French but I live in the UK) so this tactic interested me, but in real life the defence was tight but the amount of goals was a let down. When I was reading the forum I saw many people complain that their tactic was no longer valid, what I believe most people would call "ai cracking" where the AI works out a tactic to beat your own, the only way around this was to create multiple tactics for different situations, a home tactic, an away tactic, a defending lead tactic and a high attacking tactic. This was so every area could be covered; this led to my tactic being a multiple system with four tactics.

TT&F, as I said in the title, I have followed a TT&F style tactic, I’ve used the ROT (Rule of Two) to an extent giving the team an even balance while the players do their correct jobs.

The Formation

I decided on a 4-2-3-1 and to improve on my 4-4-2 as a lot of other tactics I found many flaws, the positing etc didn’t do my anybody on the pitch any favours especially my own team. I decided on a traditional 4-2-3-1 with long farrows on my wingers, this way I could use a 4-2-3-1 while promoting a strong attacking and still creating a tight defense. This was my aim also in the 4-4-2

Note the players in the positons are the computer recommendations not mine, this was just so i could sort print screens quicker. Some are taken from my Juventus squad, some from my Lyon squad.

The two tactics are very similar, i prefer the 4-4-2 Free, but i have had alot of requests on doing a 4-2-3-1, i thought it would be quicker and easier toput them both in one thread which is what i done.

Home

Away

Defending Lead

High Attack

This is my formations for the Home, Away, Defend Lead and Attack tactic. The only thing that changes with the formation in terms of positioning is farrows, barrows and sarrows.

The Tactic Instructions

One thing you must remember is that players have to get used to tactics, if you can try book a few friendlys before you try these out straight away unless you are facing low competition.

Most of the tactics in the multiple tactic system are the same, the actual formation is the same, this helps players get used to this position and can use their position experience to your advantage when you change the tactics around.

Most of the settings are the same threw out the tactics, the main changes are the tempo, where the passing is played to, closing down, the width, time wasting, forward runs and run with the ball. All of the other instructions are the same threw out the multiple tactics.

Who plays where?

I will only go other the less obvious positions this also applies to set pieces.

The first position you should try and decided is the attacking midfield centre, this is your Zinedine Zidane position, your best attacking midfielder should go here, Preferable with long shot abilities and high dribbling, he doesn’t have to be fast, just quite technical if he isn't very good at dribbling etc. I recommend you untick Hold Up Ball on these personal instructions as this can cause a loss of possession and lower the Run With Ball.

Striker - Feel free to set him as the target man if you want and that if you know what your doing, i do not do this as i have found results to be greater

without it, but if you find it more comftorble please try it.

Corner takers, this should be your right and left midfields. The right midfield player should take the left corner and visa versa, this gives the ball a swinging effect dropping it in the correct place most times.

Penalty tackers, I have heard a lot of people say this and I believe its true, the attacking mid centre is generally better at taking penalties in my opinion, when i was intermilan I had Recoba take them and he never failed me.

Free Kick takers, similar to your corner takers like above.

Tackling, this should be on easy for everybody if you do not have very good tacklers, i have my wingbacks on normal / hard most of the time, central defenders on normal with tight marking and my defensive midfielder on hard tackling.

Throw in tackers, put your right wing back to take your right throw ins and visa versa with your left wing back.

When to use certain tactics?

The names allow them to be straight forward but they are labelled with abbreviations so i will explain them here.

4-2-3-1 H / 4-4-2 Free H - This is the tactic for Home games, or in the situation of an away game where the opposing team is playing very defensively, but I recommend you keep to the away tactic even if this happens. The home is based on a slow, wide formation with a lower time wasting and focus passing set to mixed.

4-2-3-1 A / 4-4-2 Free A- This is the tactic for away games or home games where you think your going to have trouble with a very good opposition. It follows a quick narrow instruction but with a high time wasting, i believe this makes up for using the players quickly; I also have counter-attack ticked to stretch the opposition.

4-2-3-1 HA / 4-4-2 Free HA- This is the tactic when you need a goal quite urgently, its a very attacking formation but I have attempted to make the defence a bit tighter to lower the chances of conceding in a desperate situation. This is very quick with a low time wasting, but follows a wide width to make the most
of the pitch. Like i said i do not recommend this unless you need an urgent goal.

4-2-3-1 DL / 4-4-2 Free DL- This is the tactic for defending a lead and you believe the opposition has a good chance to score, its slow with a maxed time wasting and a narrow style to try to keep the formation tight, I have focused passing to down both flanks to attempt to keep the ball away from danger and counter attacking is ticked similar to away games to try and stretch the opposition and then go for the break.

When playing, if you notice things like your defenders keep getting caught in the break, don’t just sit there and watch with gloom try to sort it, a good way is give barrows to them, or consider man marking your opositions attacking midfielders if they get caught out.

The Results

*Note these are the old results to remind you of the results from the first tactic, the new results will be up shortly and they are results then these.

The Juventus pictures are shown below, I used the default team threw the whole season, I did NOT sell or buy anybody and I used reserves to cover any injuries, this also I meant I did not play with my best XI a lot of the time and given to do so, I could show how much better this is.

I will provide screen shots of all of the teams in the future, for now this is the Lyon, Hartlepool and Juventus screen shots. I will show in print screens in the future. I have beaten everyteam i have come accross so far.

Thanks to
Sir Bob, I’ve had several emails with him and he has gave me some very good advice on some of the settings and his tactics are easily some of the best.

wwfan, his long threads on TT&F are all you need, his advice is extremely helpful and I have also proved some of his theories in my tactic.

Also to anybody else that uses these forums, best forums around and i hope everybody has some success.

If anybody would like any screen prints feel free to ask, if they have trouble with the downloads i will upload each persons instructions.

Cool, give me some feedback tonight then. Overall they are better then the past set, i have tweaked a few settings like cross from, closing down, tempo etc and defending corners and free kicks more well. Synax.

Just started trying it, first season in prem with sheffield united. First game, portsmouth away, lost using away tactic 2-0, but switched to the home tactic for next game away at watford and looked promising, won 2-0. Will keep you informed. Got Zigic, would he be suited to striker role? Noticed that you play with no target man and the striker doesn't hold up ball. Is the role suited more to a michael owen, adrian mutu, Jermain Defoe type forward?

Right, its best if you play some friendlys or lesser games first, your team needs to get used to the tactic. Second i don't use a target man because this is just personal preference, i probably would with just one striker up front but not two. I prefer my attacking midfielder to get the ball and hold it up with his dribbling, i prefer one skilled man trying to get the ball to two men, then one less skilled man (at passing long distance) to pass two 1 stiker and maybe somebody without the finishing. Just won the Italian Cup with Napoli with the previous version.

In the Uefa Cup got sacked by Milan with Dida being the hero and I had no Gk. In the Serie A finished 5.

Not bad i think
