I find they do because with one of the CD challenging the gk it means that he isn't allowed to have a clear view of the shot coming in...also this applies with the man guarding the post (A1 player) being challenged by the other DC.

Right, time wasting isn't actually in a way what it sounds like, time wasting is more of how long the man stays on the ball and trys to make a decision, if its rarely the man will aim to kick the ball away to quickly without looking at the other man to see if hes being marked. With time wasting a few notches up, this will tell the player to try pick his shots abit more carefully, hope that explains it, Synax.

synax, be careful with the time-wasting at home. It works exceedingly well against teams that are better than you, but falls down when you begin to come up against the 3-3-2-1-1 formation. I would suggest an alternative formation to combat the 3-3-2-1-1 with time-wasting at 5 maximum.
