I've been playing a pretty standard 442 and results have been going well although opposition was getting a few good chances in the game. I play a narrow passing game with wingers, an amc and a dmc with high closing down for the back four.
Anyway, just for laughs I thought I'd mess about with the instructions and went to no creative freedom for the netire team, no running with the ball and stuck everyone (except the keeper) on 5 for short passing. This has had a pretty impressive effect on my side. Still winning but getting around 65% possesion, opposition are limited to 1 or 2 chances a game and generally winning quite comfortably. I'm going to run with this for a couple of months game time and see if it holds up.
Has anyone experimented with these types of instructions before and if so how have they panned out?
i had a pretty good 1st season with 2 for passing, creative freedom and tempo. losing only 5 games total, 3 in the league all away to 'lesser teams' 1 to chelsea in CL quarters and another in a meaningless group stage game!

Interesting. The only downside I've noticed is occasionally the DC's have occasionally played poor passes when under pressure so I might move them up to just short of normal for passing.
