The Official 4-3-3 Discussion (and possible tactic creation)
I have always been a big fan of the 4-3-3 formation but have always been sceptical about using it in football Manager games as the 4-4-2 has always seem to be the dominant tactic. In real life Chelsea and (sometimes) Bolton have had sucsses with the 4-3-3 or variation of it, i really like the way Chelsea attack but i also like the way Bolton play more as a team, covering for each other and are always seem to play well above there potential.
I would really like to create a combination of both, something that has the quality and creativness of the Chelsea players and the determination, drive and general team work of the Bolton players.
*Objective*
To create a 4-3-3 that can be effective at both attacking and defending.
This tactic is the one most people use as it is a 4-3-3 when attacking and a 4-5-1 when defending and with the right players and instruction it can be a great sucsses, but i am not a big fan of it.
------------------------------------------------
This tactic is one of my favourites as it incorporates a DMC which i love to play with, it also alows the attacker more freedom than the last as they can be either out wide or in the center instead of just hugging the lines.
------------------------------------------------
This tactic i think should only be used when you are up against a far weeker team and your are playing at home as it dosent offer to much in the way of defense unless the 2 CM are defensive minded but also have good attacking attributes e.g Lampard and Gerrard.
Each of these tactics have the potential to be very effective as long as the right players are used and the team and player instruction are a good mixture of attack and defense.
*Testing*
I have not long started a game with Brighton so i will be using this game for the testing.
I did try the flat 3 CM`s but it just didnt seem to work. So i tried a DMC and that works suberbly.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Having lots of sucsess at the mo, but lets not speak to soon.

I have found the opposite.
After having great succes at Chelsea, Im now enjoying a good start with Milan.
No idea whether its the tactic or the players, and I dont care either, it just works and scores bucketloads of goals whilst still not conceding many at all

@ Benoit2: Do you use side-arrows for midfielders or strikers?
Playing with a flat midfield is also working best for me, because playing with a DM or an AM is not working for me at all. The DM plays to close to the back four and when playing with an AM he plays to close to the three forwards.

I doing really well with a DMC, i fact he is my top rated player. I also have Sarrows on the FCL and FCR this is causing the oposition defenses a load of problems. The FC is also set as the target man.
So far the front 3 a creating shead loads of chances.
FCL Alexandre Frutos P-20 G-8 A-15 MoM-5 AVR-7.85
FC Jake Robinson P-19 G-20 A-5 MoM-7 AVR-7.84
FCR Freddy Eastwood P-14 G-5 A-2 MoM-2 AVR-7.29
I will give the tactic a few more games then post all the info and a link to the tactic itself.
