Really struggling to get my strikers working with each other .. it seems no matter what team I'm playing with, I keep running into the same problem : Greedy strikers

Now .. don't get me wrong - as a fully paid up member of the Strikers Union, I'm not against strikers taking on chances when they have a clear shot at goal ...

.. but the ones where they burst into the box from the sideline and constantly balloon the ball over the bar or out for a throw in on the opposite side, when his buddy is waving hands and screaming for the square ball (he has so much time and space he could probably have a cup of tea and biscuits and still knock the ball into an emptyish net). Yet, the square ball never comes ..

Yet time and time again, in exactly the same situations, the AI players will just lay the ball across on a plate ... 0-1

Decision making probably comes in there somewhere, but it can't completely come down to that (i'm playing in fairly low level leagues ..) because, as I said, the low quality AI players constantly make the right decision ..

I have my 2 strikers on cross often - yet they don't so it can't be that ..

Its really frustrating as I'm tired of having 20 shots on goal, with 1 on target and getting beat 0-1 by teams that only have a couple of shots ..

SQUARE THE BALL, GODDAMMIT!!!

Anyone got any ideas?

I suspect that your strikers shouldnt be crossing the ball much so put their crossing instruction to rare.

Well, to me, thats counter-intuitive .. in those situations I WANT them to cross the ball to the guy at the far post - but they dont .. so I can't see how putting Crossing on rare will help - surely they'll only shoot more often then?

Maybe i never made the point clear : The strikers are bursting into the box and shooting when at impossible angles when a simple ball to the guy, unmarked, at the back post is the best option .. and no matter what I do, I can't get them to do this

What are their teamwork stats? Low teamwork + any sight of goal = speculative shot.

I have noticed though that players really do not like cutting the ball back or playing the ball across the face of goal, even those with high teamwork. It might be a carryover of the 06 annoyance whereby a player withing 10 yards of the goal-line thinks they've got a great chance - regardless of the angle facing them.

I actually think this is something that might need tweaked in the game engine by SI.

- Reduce tempo?
- Less creative freedom?
- Long shots rarely?
- TTB mixed?

Of course his individual stats play a part in this. If he has poor stats for teamwork, composure and decision making there is only so much you can do about it.

i have the same problem as thunda dont matter if im in he prem or in llm the same thing always happens . i tryed players with high teamwork and desicions tryed crossing on and off, i think its just a stupid game bug in the ai so i tryed strikers with very high finishing and tecnique and now some times they score from it.

I'm guessing its got to do with the tactics / attributes instead of a game bug as I do see the AI doing the 'right' thing often (I think) - but the players doing it against me are no better in the way of decisions or teamwork etc ...
