ATM I am in charge of Arsenal, and my friend is in charge of Liverpool. I had a real stormer beginning of season beating Chelsea 3-1, beating Werder Bremen 7-1, winning most games 3-0 or more.

Now suddenly it seems that neither me nor my friend is able to produce goals. I can have like 20 shots, 10 on target, barely scoring 1, and still end up with a draw against like Sheffield Utd, who has only 1 shot at me, but still is able to score, leavind end result of 1-1.


I have played since CM2, and NEVER witnessed anything like this, finding the series both easy and fun.


I dont belive the problem is in my training, since I feel I got that part "covered" with 5 star different schedules for each part of the field; Defenders, Attackers & Shooting. (Using about same schedules as I did in FM2006, where I had great success)

Let me add that the strikers act VERY strange in 1 vs 1 situations against opposing goalkeeper;

-cuts out either to left or right EVERY time
-terrible backpasses
-not passing to teammember who can put ball into net easily
-loosing 9 out of 10 situations alone with opposing GK. This goes even for Henry & Defoe against "rubbish" teams/GK's. This has been since day 1 though.


Whats even more frustrating, is that I feel the game result is more of a lottery; We can win 3-0 against teams like Man U, then loose 5-0 to teams like Portsmouth, leaving us no way at all predicting the end of the result against any team. The only thing that usually follows all the way, is that we are "controlling" the game with LOTs of chances, but end up as loosers.



What could be wrong here?

sorry mate i'm in the same boat as you.
6 games into my 1st season the ai has had 6 shots on target scored all 6
rooney has had 18 1 on 1's and has failed to score possesion 60%-40% pass complete 82%-58%.
i've just lost 4-2 to liverpool they had 4 shots on target to my 10

I agree. I did a test using 2 different tactics away vs. Arsenal. 8 games with each tactic. Same lineup, no ingame tweaking, team talks handled by assistant manager.

This was the results using tactic #2:

Match 1:
Arsenal - Liverpool 2-1
Shots: 22-11
On target: 11-4
Possesion: 53-47

Match 2:
Arsenal - Liverpool 0-2
Shots: 7-7
On target: 2-2 (!)
Possesion: 48-52

Match 3:
Arsenal - Liverpool 1-0
Shots: 6-4
On target: 3-1
Possesion: 53-47

Match 4:
Arsenal - Liverpool 2-1
Shots: 14-4
On target: 9-2
Possesion: 53-47

Match 5:
Arsenal - Liverpool 4-4
Shots: 18-9
On target: 10-8
Possesion: 53-47

Match 6:
Arsenal - Liverpool 1-2
Shots: 11-10
On target: 6-4
Possesion: 49-51

Match 7:
Arsenal - Liverpool 1-2
Shots: 11-10
On target: 6-4
Posession: 49-51

Match 8:
Arsenal - Liverpool 2-2
Shots: 16-8
On target: 9-6

i think this time it really is your strikers fault! theyre just on/starting a bad run. you need to drop them for a few games and play other lesser players even if it is henry or whoever your replacing.

Well Henry is atm getting injured in every game *sigh* 2mnths + 2 mnths + 2 weeks + 2weeks, dunno whats going on ingame right now. Anyway, with Henry injured all the time, I cycle my 2 strikers (I play 1 striker formation). No difference who runs into the 1 on 1 situation.

This is even worse for my friend who plays Liverpool; he has Dekuyt + Defoe + Crouch + Bellamy, all the same for all of them sadly enough. He can have like 5 to 10 one-on-ones, loosing them all.

i have had the same problem imm chelski , played pompey and had 24 shots 11 on target and scored 1 they had 6 shots 4 on target and scored 2 GRRRR . i checked my tempo moved it to normal and now im doing a lot better . beat inter 7-0 on agg 2 -0 away and 5 at home. just adjust ya tempo!! :thup:

Same happens to me. I played Liverpool, and suddenly in the 2nd season, all my strikers Kyut, Bellamy, Bapstita, Crouch, Aguero cannot find the net though they have plenty of chances, no matter it is close range or one to one situation. On the other hand, the opposition can always score with just 1-2 chances from long range, with their goalkeeper saving everything that is thrown to him.
