OK guys, I've been building my own tactic based on wwfan's T&TF'07, basically tweaking a 4-4-2 system with the RoT Rules.
I still concede lots of goals, mainly with deep crosses from wingers coming right on the head of their targetman or (worse) on the head of the opposite winger. Computer players ALWAYS win the aerial battles against my players.
Needless to say, I'm very upset, and I'm trying to tweak my tactic so that it doesn't happen again.
First of all I've been trying to prevent crosses from the wingers : I've set my wingback instructions to "individual tight marking", and I've instructed my team to play wide, so that I can mark the wingers.
Too bad, my wingbacks don't seem to know which player they should man-mark, and sometimes they're focusing on the targetman (!), letting the flank empty and opened to computer assaults.
Then I told me I should have some good heading defenders to win the ball in the air. As a test I decided to edit the abilities of my defenders - I put them with 19 pace, 19 acceleration, 19 marking, 19 positioning, 19 jumping, 19 heading. Useless. On 10 fixtures, I conceded 12, 9 being by headers on crosses.
And last, I wanted to build a defensive system where my own wingers would help the fullbacks in their defensives tasks - IE the way it should be, and the way it's not in the RoT theory. Useless again. Easy moves from the opponent seem to cause havoc in my defense, and their wingers can still cross easily to their strikers.
What in the hell could I do to prevent those goals ? (instead of buying top class fullbacks, wingers, and central defenders - haven't got that money yet)
(and sorry for the mistakes I could've made in this message - we french are not that good when it comes to foreign languages)
